redenominate
Alter currency units
To redenominate is to change the face value of a currency, usually by removing zeros during periods of hyperinflation: Zimbabwe redenominated its dollar, making 10 billion old dollars equal to one new dollar.
The term also applies to converting financial instruments from one currency to another: bonds redenominated in euros.
