The rear fender is the curved panel covering the wheel well at the back of a vehicle, protecting the body from road debris, mud, and spray thrown up by the tires.
On cars, it's typically integrated into the body; on motorcycles and bicycles, it's often a separate removable piece.
The rear fender got dented when I backed into a post.
