read rights
Recite legal protections
Read rights are permissions that allow a user to view or access a file, folder, or database without being able to modify it.
In computing and file systems, read rights are typically the most basic level of access: The intern has read rights to the shared drive but can't edit anything.
Distinct from write rights, which permit changes, and execute rights, which allow running programs.
