rappelling gear
Cliff-lowering apparatus
Rappelling gear is the equipment used for controlled descent on a rope, typically including a harness, carabiner, descender device, and rope.
The term covers both the minimal setup for recreational rappelling and the more elaborate rigs used in rescue operations, caving, or tactical contexts: Make sure you check your rappelling gear before heading down.
