rainsplash
Wet surface percussion
Rainsplash is the impact of raindrops hitting a surface, or the droplets and soil particles scattered by that impact.
In geology and agriculture, rainsplash describes erosion caused when falling rain dislodges loose soil: Rainsplash moved sediment downslope over centuries.
The word also names the sound or visual pattern of rain striking puddles, windows, or pavement.
