radical movement

Push for upheaval

A radical movement is an organized effort to bring about fundamental change in political, social, or economic systems.

Unlike reform movements that work within existing structures, radical movements seek to transform or overthrow them entirely: The radical movement attracted students disillusioned with incremental progress.

The term can describe movements across the political spectrum—from revolutionary leftists to far-right extremists.
