quilting hoop
Stitching frame circle
A quilting hoop is a circular or oval frame used to hold fabric taut while hand-stitching a quilt.
It consists of two nested rings—the fabric stretches over the inner ring, and the outer ring clamps down to secure it.
Larger than embroidery hoops, quilting hoops allow the stitcher to work on sections without the fabric bunching or shifting: She moved the quilting hoop to start on the next block.
