preproductions
Planning before shooting
Preproductions is the plural of preproduction—the planning and preparation phase before actual production begins.
The term appears most often in film, television, and media contexts, where preproduction includes scripting, casting, location scouting, and budgeting: We have three preproductions running simultaneously this quarter.
