post mortem
After death analysis
Post mortem is Latin for "after death." A post mortem is an examination of a corpse to determine cause of death—also called an autopsy.
Extended to any retrospective analysis of something that has ended: We did a post mortem on the failed campaign.
In gaming and business, post mortems review what went wrong (or right) after a project concludes.
Also spelled postmortem.
