posed portrait
Staged studio shot
A posed portrait is a photograph or painting where the subject has been deliberately arranged or positioned, as opposed to candid shots capturing spontaneous moments.
The subject typically faces the camera, often with controlled lighting and a chosen backdrop: The family gathered for a posed portrait in front of the fireplace.
The term sometimes carries a slight connotation of stiffness or artificiality.
