portfolio career
Multiple simultaneous vocations
A portfolio career combines multiple part-time jobs, freelance work, or income streams rather than a single full-time position.
The term suggests deliberate curation—like an artist's portfolio—rather than simply cobbling together work out of necessity: She built a portfolio career teaching yoga, consulting, and writing.
The arrangement offers variety and flexibility but requires managing multiple professional identities.
