Lose bowel control
To poop one's pants is to defecate in one's underwear, whether from loss of bowel control, illness, or fear.
The phrase appears literally with young children and the elderly, but more often figuratively to describe extreme fear or shock: I nearly pooped my pants when the car swerved toward us.
Also *shit one's pants*, which is cruder but more common among adults.
