plasma screens
Ionized gas monitors
Plasma screens are flat-panel displays that use small cells of ionized gas—plasma—to produce images.
Popular for televisions and monitors in the early 2000s, they offered superior contrast and viewing angles compared to LCD screens of that era.
Plasma technology has since been largely superseded by LED and OLED displays: We replaced our old plasma screen with a newer LED model.
