pink sand
Coral-tinted shoreline grains
Pink sand is sand with a rosy or pinkish hue, typically found on certain beaches where coral fragments, shells, and the calcium carbonate remains of tiny marine organisms called foraminifera mix with white sand.
The color ranges from pale blush to salmon depending on concentration.
Pink sand beaches occur in Bermuda, the Bahamas, and a few other coastal locations: We spent the afternoon on a pink sand beach in Harbour Island.
