pinchpoint
Where things squeeze
A pinchpoint is a place where space narrows dangerously—where fingers, limbs, or bodies can get caught and crushed between moving parts or closing surfaces: Keep hands clear of pinchpoints on the machinery.
The term extends to any bottleneck or vulnerable spot: a pinchpoint in traffic flow, a pinchpoint in supply chains where disruption causes cascading problems.
