picking one's nose
Digital nasal exploration
Picking one's nose is using a finger to extract mucus or other matter from the nasal cavity.
The habit is nearly universal but considered impolite in public: She caught him picking his nose at the dinner table.
Children are frequently admonished against it.
The extracted material is a booger.
