photoresistance

Illumination changes conductivity

Photoresistance is the property of a material whose electrical resistance changes when exposed to light.

Materials with high photoresistance conduct electricity poorly in darkness but become more conductive when illuminated.

This property is exploited in photoresistors—components used in light-sensing circuits like automatic streetlights and camera exposure meters.
