petroleum refining
Oil into fuel
Petroleum refining is the industrial process of converting crude oil into usable products—gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, heating oil, lubricants, and petrochemical feedstocks.
Refineries use distillation to separate crude oil into fractions based on boiling point, then further process these through cracking, reforming, and treatment to meet specifications.
The refinery processes 200,000 barrels a day.
