peeping toms
Illicit privacy invaders
Peeping toms are people who secretly watch others, especially through windows, typically to see them undressing or engaged in private activities.
The term comes from the legend of Lady Godiva, in which a tailor named Tom was struck blind for peeping at her naked ride through Coventry.
The singular is peeping Tom: The neighbors caught a peeping Tom looking through their bedroom window.
