pedometers
Wearable stride talliers
Pedometers are devices that count steps, typically worn at the waist or wrist to track walking distance and physical activity.
The name combines the Latin root for foot with meter.
Once standalone gadgets, pedometers are now usually built into smartphones and fitness trackers: My pedometer says I've walked eight thousand steps today.
