pebble-dash

Gravelly wall coating

Pebble-dash is a wall coating made by pressing small stones into wet plaster or cement, creating a rough, textured exterior surface.

Common on British houses built in the early-to-mid twentieth century: The whole estate was pebble-dashed semis.

As a verb, to pebble-dash is to apply this finish.

Also spelled pebbledash.
