Peace be upon him is a phrase Muslims say or write after mentioning the Prophet Muhammad, expressing reverence and respect.
Often abbreviated PBUH in English text.
The Arabic equivalent, *ṣallā llāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam*, appears after Muhammad's name in Islamic writing.
Some Muslims extend the phrase to other prophets: Jesus, peace be upon him.
