partizan
Long-handled battle weapon
Partizan is an alternative spelling of partisan—a strong supporter of a party, cause, or person, often with connotations of bias or one-sidedness: partizan politics, partizan loyalty.
The spelling with a z appears in older texts and some European contexts.
A partizan is also a long-handled spear with a broad blade, used in the 16th and 17th centuries.
