pack mentality
Follow the crowd
Pack mentality is the tendency to think and act as a group rather than as individuals, often abandoning independent judgment to follow the crowd.
The term borrows from wolf pack behavior, where animals coordinate around dominant members.
It usually carries negative connotations—suggesting blind conformity, mob behavior, or surrendering critical thinking to groupthink: Social media amplifies pack mentality.
Also called herd mentality or mob mentality.
