pH levels
Solution acidity scale
pH levels measure the acidity or alkalinity of a substance on a scale from 0 to 14, with 7 being neutral.
Lower numbers indicate acids, higher numbers indicate bases or alkaline substances.
The term appears most often in scientific contexts, skincare, pool maintenance, and discussions of body chemistry.
The pool's pH levels were off, so we added chemicals to balance it.
Healthy skin has slightly acidic pH levels around 5.5.
