oversteeping
Brew left long
Oversteeping is leaving tea, coffee, or other infusions in water too long, extracting excessive tannins or bitterness: I overslept and oversteept the tea.
The word extends to anything left soaking beyond the ideal point.
Figuratively, it can describe dwelling too long on something: She's been oversteeping in her own anxieties.
