oval frame
Rounded rectangular enclosure
An oval frame is a picture frame or border shaped like an elongated circle rather than a rectangle.
Oval frames were popular for portraits in the 18th and 19th centuries and remain common for formal photographs, cameos, and mirrors: Her grandmother's portrait hung in an ornate oval frame above the mantel.
