outdoor art
Public creative installations
Outdoor art is visual art created for or displayed in exterior spaces—sculptures in parks, murals on buildings, installations in plazas.
The term encompasses both permanent public works and temporary exhibitions.
Unlike gallery art, outdoor art must weather the elements and engage passersby who didn't come looking for it: The city commissioned outdoor art for the new waterfront.
