orienters

Those who position

Orienters are people who orient—those who position, direct, or help others find their bearings.

The term appears most often in orienteering, the competitive sport of navigating cross-country courses using map and compass: The orienters gathered at the starting point with their maps.

More broadly, anyone who orients newcomers or guides others toward understanding could be called an orienter.
