opening umbrella indoors
Bad luck trigger
Opening an umbrella indoors is a superstition-laden act said to bring bad luck.
The belief likely stems from practical origins—early umbrellas had stiff metal spokes that could injure someone or break objects in confined spaces.
The superstition persists as folk wisdom, often invoked half-jokingly: Don't open that umbrella in here—you'll bring bad luck.
