on side
In your corner
On side (also onside) describes being in a legal position in sports like soccer or hockey—not past the last defender when receiving the ball.
The opposite of offside.
Figuratively, to get someone on side or be on side means to have their support or agreement: We need to get the board on side before announcing the merger.
