observer effect
Watching changes outcomes
The observer effect is the principle that measuring or observing a phenomenon inevitably changes it.
In physics, particularly quantum mechanics, the act of observation can alter the behavior of particles being measured.
The concept extends beyond science: a camera crew filming a family dinner changes how people behave, or workers perform differently when they know they're being watched.
The observer effect made it impossible to measure their natural workflow.
