nurse-in
Public lactation activism
A nurse-in is a protest where mothers gather to breastfeed in public, typically at a business or location where a woman was asked to stop nursing or cover up.
The demonstration asserts the right to breastfeed openly: After the restaurant asked her to leave, local mothers organized a nurse-in.
The term follows the pattern of sit-in and other civil rights protest formations.
