nontranslucent
Light cannot pass
Nontranslucent describes materials that don't allow light to pass through diffusely.
Where translucent glass would let light filter through while obscuring details, nontranslucent materials block light entirely or let none scatter through: The nontranslucent curtains kept the room dark.
The word is technical and somewhat awkward—opaque usually serves better.
