nepotist
Relative-favoring employer
A nepotist is someone who practices nepotism—the favoring of relatives or close friends when distributing jobs, contracts, or other opportunities.
The term carries a distinctly negative connotation, implying that merit has been bypassed in favor of personal connections.
The new CEO was widely regarded as a nepotist after hiring three of his cousins.
While nepotism itself is the more common word, nepotist specifically identifies the person doing the favoring rather than the practice.
