natural system
Nature's own arrangement
A natural system is any interconnected set of components that exists and operates without human design—ecosystems, weather patterns, the water cycle, the human body.
The term often appears in contrast to artificial or engineered systems: The natural system of the wetlands filters water more effectively than any treatment plant.
In classification, a natural system groups organisms by evolutionary relationships rather than superficial similarities.
