mythic figure
Hero of lore
A mythic figure is a character from mythology or legend—gods, heroes, monsters, and other beings from traditional stories passed down through generations.
The term extends to real people who have taken on legendary status: Elvis has become a mythic figure in American culture.
Someone described this way transcends ordinary fame, embodying larger themes or cultural meanings.
