moves back

Returns toward origin

Moves back describes motion in the reverse direction—withdrawing, retreating, or returning to a previous position.

Someone who moves back lets another person pass, or relocates to a former home: She moves back to let him through, He moves back to his hometown after ten years.

It can also describe shifting something rearward: The deadline moves back to Friday.
