moo shoo
Filled Mandarin pancake
Moo shoo, also spelled mu shu, is a Chinese-American dish featuring stir-fried ingredients—typically shredded pork, eggs, wood ear mushrooms, and cabbage—served with thin pancakes and hoisin sauce.
Diners spread the sauce on a pancake, add the filling, and roll it up.
We ordered moo shoo pork and shared the pancakes.
Though the dish has roots in northern Chinese cuisine, the version familiar in American restaurants has evolved considerably from its origins.
