mineral makeup
Powdered earth beautifiers
Mineral makeup is cosmetics made primarily from finely ground minerals—typically titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, and iron oxides—rather than synthetic ingredients.
Marketed as more natural and gentler on sensitive skin, mineral makeup often comes in loose powder form: I switched to mineral makeup after my foundation kept breaking me out.
The term gained popularity in the 1990s and 2000s as part of the natural beauty movement.
