Meeples are small wooden or plastic figures used as playing pieces in board games, typically human-shaped with a simple silhouette—a round head atop a body with outstretched arms.
The term originated with the game Carcassonne and has since become standard in tabletop gaming: I'm out of meeples to place on the board.
