maternal grandfathers
Moms' dads collectively
Maternal grandfathers are the fathers of one's mother—grandfathers on the mother's side of the family.
The term distinguishes them from paternal grandfathers, who are the fathers of one's father: Both of my maternal grandfathers served in World War II.
