mango pit
Tropical seed core
The mango pit is the large, flat seed at the center of a mango, surrounded by fibrous flesh that clings stubbornly to it.
Removing the pit cleanly requires cutting along its sides: She sliced around the mango pit and scooped out the flesh.
The pit is sometimes called a stone or seed.
