Someone financially comfortable
A man of means is a wealthy man, one who has the financial resources to live comfortably or lavishly.
The phrase is slightly formal or old-fashioned: He married a man of means and never worked again.
Means here refers to money or assets available for use—the same sense found in live beyond your means or a person of modest means.
