A male chauvinist pig is a man who believes men are inherently superior to women and behaves accordingly—dismissing women's opinions, treating them as subordinates, or reducing them to sexual objects.
The phrase emerged from 1960s feminism and remains a pointed insult: Her boss is a complete male chauvinist pig who talks over every woman in meetings.
