battle of the sexes
Male-female competition
A battle of the sexes is a competition or conflict between men and women, often framed as a test of which gender is superior.
The phrase commonly describes sporting events pitting male against female competitors, or more broadly, the ongoing tensions and power dynamics between the sexes: The argument over housework became another battle of the sexes.
