looky-loos
Nosy crowd watchers
Looky-loos are people who gather to gawk at something—an accident, a crime scene, a celebrity, or any spectacle that draws idle curiosity.
The term carries a dismissive tone, suggesting these onlookers contribute nothing useful and may even obstruct those who have legitimate business.
The looky-loos slowed traffic to a crawl.
Real estate agents also use it for people who attend open houses with no intention of buying.
