longcloth
Fine cotton fabric
Longcloth is a fine, plain-woven cotton fabric, soft and closely woven, traditionally used for undergarments, nightwear, and infant clothing.
The name refers to the long pieces in which it was originally sold.
Once a household staple, it has largely been displaced by modern synthetic fabrics.
