long side
Rectangle's greater dimension
The long side is the longer of two sides in a rectangle or other elongated shape: Place the desk against the long side of the room.
In billiards and pool, the long side refers to the longer rails of the table.
The term contrasts with short side and helps orient positioning or measurement in spatial contexts.
