live up
Honor a commitment
Live up appears almost exclusively with "to" and means to meet a standard or fulfill an expectation: The sequel didn't live up to the original.
The standard may be set by reputation, promise, or potential: She struggled to live up to her family name.
Without "to," live up occasionally means to live fully or lavishly: We lived it up in Vegas.
